REMEMBERING RIZAL

Tuesday, 26 February 2013

Jose Rizal is our national hero. He fights for our country without using any violence. He used his own talent over the Spaniards. He died without hesitate just for the sake of the next generations. That is why, every year we commemorate his memories and give importance to his sacrifice for us.

Last month, we had this play entitled “Batang Rizal”. The story of it started with Pepito. Pepito is an honored student in Rizal Elementary School. He has these bully classmates that always puts him on trouble. He had trouble with Kaye, his crush, because of those bullies. They are preparing for the coming program, “Linggo ng Wika”. Mayor Rapku, the city mayor, brought a statue of Rizal in their school which cost an arm and a leg. Pepito got curious what’s behind the white blanket so he peeks on it but suddenly his bully mate pushed him. He bumped on the statue then it fell on the ground broken. His teacher told him that he needs to settle the things until the program came.

He found a magical book about Rizal on the shelves. The book brought him on the past, on Rizal’s time. He met some of Rizal’s sister, his mother and Pepe in their place. He witnesses some happenings in Rizal’s life in a short period of time. He even brought Rizal in the present. Pepito tried his best to introduce Rizal to them but they did not believe in him and thinks that he is insane. They discover the truth at the end when Pepe and Pepito resolve all the problems together.

I’d learned that we, as teenagers, should be responsible enough of the things that matter. Nothing will happen if we’ll not start it with ourselves. Love your own country even though it’s not the ideal country that everyone of us wish.
